Congratulations to Stan!
This week our Elders joined the FEB Central Regional Conference via Zoom, where our newest staff member, Stan Fowler, was given the Eagle Award for lifetime achievement showing “outstanding leadership and service to the FEB Central Churches and family.” So, a hearty congratulations to Stan! It’s certainly a blessing to have you here with us during this time :)
If you have a few minutes to learn a bit more about Stan, hear about “flying donkeys”, and be encouraged by his faithful service to God and the church, you can see the award presentation online below (video is cued up to the presentation portion).
A Saturday Seminar Survey + bonus perks
If you took part in Saturday Seminars with our old friend Steve West back in March–whether you joined in live, listened later to the online audio, or even if you couldn’t make it but are interested in future Saturday Seminar sessions–we’d really appreciate your feedback as we continue to move forward with plans for future sessions. We have a quick survey form, and as a double bonus if you take the survey, here are a couple perks:
A sneak peek into when our next Saturday Seminars will be and who will be teaching!
A prize! We have a spare copy of Steve’s most recently published book, which we’ll give to one person who completes the survey.
The survey will be open until Thursday, May 6: Saturday Seminar Survey
Spring Gardening
Thanks so much to Danielle and her garden helpers for cleaning up the gardens this last week! We know you all aren’t around the building as much as usual, so we’ve brought the flowers to you (see below).
Benevolent Fund & Regular Giving
In case you missed it in the announcements a few weeks back, the Deacons approved a donation to the Evergreen Seniors Centre for their new meal program which feeds seniors and vulnerable people in our community. (You can read more about the program in the Guelph Tribune.) This money was from our Benevolent Fund which is specifically designated for meeting practical needs within our own church family and our local community. Usually the loose cash from Communion Sunday offerings is what keeps our Benevolent fund going, but given the last year, this fund is currently at a low point. If you’d like to donate so we can continue to meet practical needs, the best way at this point is via cheque with an enclosed note designating it for the Benevolent Fund.
For regular giving, we have several options, all of which are listed on our Donations page. If you need any help, especially with the automatic withdrawals or online giving options, let Stephanie in the office know and she can walk you through it no problem :)
Sunday Service from Home
Our Sunday service will continue in a similar format to last week, with our livestreaming crew in the building running the service so you can join in from home. As usual, the service will go live at 10:30 am on Sunday morning on the website: Sunday Service
