Update on our Sunday Livestream

A Message from our Elders & Deacons:

Three years ago, at the beginning of the pandemic, we began to livestream our service. At the time, we considered if this would be a permanent or pandemic specific undertaking. If it was to be permanent, a large investment in technology and volunteer staff would be required to do it properly. Our decision was that it would be temporary, and this was reaffirmed recently by your current Elders and Deacons Boards.

Thank you for your patience with the many technology glitches as well as audio and video quality which has been well below what we would have wanted. And a special thank-you to our staff and volunteers who work on the soundboard and behind the scenes, for all your extra work in cobbling together the necessary pieces to make this broadcast available each week. As well as the technology challenges, they have had to properly navigate the privacy and copyright issues. It’s been a lot of extra work which they have taken on without complaint.

The Elders and Deacons have monitored viewership closely. The numbers have dropped to a very low level now that things are fully opened up. Therefore, we have decided that the final livestream broadcast will be on April 9th, Easter Sunday morning.

The Elders have spoken with most of those who we know rely on the Livestream. But we want to invite everyone to let us know if there are other ways that we can support you. Call the church or email church@crestwicke.org. We will continue to post the audio portion of the sermons on our website. If you are ready to join us, but need a ride, please let us know so we can assist you.

We thank God for the gift of being able to livestream, especially during the weeks when we could only have 10 people in the building. We were able to stay connected over the years, and we are now grateful to return to worshipping and fellowshipping together.
