Welcome to STEAM Camp: Indescribable

Indescribable is a five-day STEAM camp where your kids will have fun learning through
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math!

With experiments, games, and arts projects, we'll explore the wonders of God’s creation!
This year we will be exploring the wonders of light.

I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
— John 8:12

Why A STEAM Camp?

STEAM or Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math are all key elements of many of the upcoming jobs in our workforce. At Crestwicke, we want to empower and inspire today’s youth with the tools they need to succeed in life while helping them to understand how God’s hand plays a role in all of it.

At our STEAM Camp your kids will…

  • Investigate the Scientific principles and applications of light, and what God says about it;

  • Learn how we can use light to solve Technological and Engineering problems, to be a shining light in challenging places;

  • Use Math to better understand how we can refract and reflect God’s light;

  • And through the Arts, discover how truly complex and beautiful light is, and the difference it can make in the dark world we live in.

FAQ

Is food provided?

Due to many children with various dietary requirements, you will need to pack your child(ren)’s own nut-free lunch and a snack. Also, please ensure your child has their own labeled water bottle; there will be filling stations available.

How should my child dress?

We will be active both inside and (weather permitting) outside. Your child(ren) will also be participating in various activities, some of which can be messy (i.e. painting, tye dye etc.) so please dress your child with that in mind.

Packing sunscreen, hats, etc. is recommended.

What will a typical day look like?

Every day we will start as a big group in the Auditorium where we will talk about the theme for the day, play games, sing songs etc. Then the kids will be split into smaller groups; these are the groups they will be with for the rest of the week.

In these smaller groups they will rotate through three different stations: STEM activity/talk, art, and games/sports. After, we will all meet back in the Auditorium, then head outside for pickup.

My child's friend will be attending. How can I make sure they are in the same group?

We will be dividing groups by grade, so if they are in the same grade there is a good chance (but no guarantee) that they will be in the same group. However, when you register for camp, you can leave a note in the comments section and we will take these into consideration as best we can.
